What is Gin Yoga ?



  • Gin yoga is yoga trend inspired by Beer yoga class ,both yoga trend involves drinking alcoholic beverages during the yoga practise.
  • The gin is first started in Manchester in a yoga class called the "YinB4Gin"  for gin lover who loves to drink gin while practising vinyasa yoga flow.
  • With the beer yoga itself there are many backlash among the yoga community by the traditional yoga instructor calling its a fake yoga methods used to make money on without any real yoga benefits and also they claims that these trends are eliminating the essence of yoga.
  • Actually i am not here to promote this yoga either,but i am going to give the pros and cons of this yoga trend and let you decide what is best for you.

  • This trend's popularity started to spread to the London by Good Life Yoga ,there the yoga is taught as yin-yang yoga flow.Then the yin-gin yoga became famous Cardiff UK.
  • According to good life yoga "yin is considered as feminine,cool,stable and downward moving and Yang as masculine,changing,hot and upward moving".
  • By combining both yin-yang we feel experience of higher state of enlightenment with a relaxing and calming happy feel.

Who invented Gin Liquor ?


  • Holland is said to be the birthplace of  Gin.
  • The inventor of Gin is said to be Dutch physician Franciscus Sylvius.
  • He used the gin for the medicinal purposes on the year 1550.


What is the main Ingredient of Gin ?


  • Gin is liquor with the dominant flavour of  ingredient in making the gin from the juniper berries (Juniperus communis).

  • Don't do gin yoga alone,its better have a friend or partner during these yoga session due to the involvement of alcohol and over dosage issues.
  • Limit the amount of gin and alcohol as per the instruction of your healthcare expert,because over dosage can affect your yoga class as well as your health.
  • Concentrate on your breathing while doing yoga,proper breathing is essential thing for a good yoga session.

  • According to a Research on spirits by Public Health Wales suggest than comparing with all other alcohol types with Spirits are associated with feeling more calm,relaxed and happy.
  • One study shows that Gin consist of higher level of antioxidants compared to stirred martinis.
  • Another study on 2004 shows that gin and tonic 1,000ml gained a more number of plasma in their blood ,which shows the therapeutic properties of gin. 
  • In a 2009 study shows that gin and red wine both in appropriate amount have significant effect on your blood plasma with antioxidant vitamins, lipids and oxidability of low-density lipo-protein that make your heart healthy.
